Music fans and musicians will get a chance to dig deeper into rock and rolls past with a new hour-long series produced by KLCS-TV, Channel 58: Rock N Roll Stories. The debut show will air on KLCS, Channel 58 (L.A.s own PBS station), Direct TV, Dish network and most cable systems on Tuesday, April 16 at 10:30 p.m. and again on Friday, April 26 at 8:00 p.m.
Hosted by Tom Waldman, the Director of Communications at LAUSD and author of We All Want to Change the World: Rock and Politics from Elvis to Eminem, the program will feature Wayne Kramer an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, producer and film and television composer, who came to prominence in 1967 as co-founder of the Detroit rock group MC5 (Motor City 5). Rolling Stone ranked Kramer number ninety-two on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of all Time.
KLCS is honored to launch Rock N Roll Stories with Wayne Kramer, founding member of the seminal 1960s band, the MC5, said Sabrina Thomas, KLCS General Manager. Waynes sharp and insightful comments about rock and jazz, and such important and influential artists as James Brown, Chuck Berry, The Who, and Marvin Gaye, made for an extraordinary broadcast. Dedicated fans of rock, soul, funk and jazz will want to see the show, added Thomas.

On the program, Kramer will discuss songs that influenced his career. These include: Chuck Berrys Johnny B. Goode, The Whos My Generation and Marvin Gayes Whats Going On. Hell also demonstrate on guitar how he learned Chuck Berry riffs, note for note, as a kid during the 1950s and early 1960s.
The Rock N Roll Stories show is one in a series aimed at stressing the value of music education in schools. It is an informative conversation about the history, purpose, politics, and musical value of rock and roll and rhythm and blues, including soul and funk, said Thomas. This program is intended for viewers who know the genres well and are always looking to learn more, and for viewers who are just becoming acquainted with rock and roll, and want to dig deeper.
